Have you heard?

"Ballroom dancing just might be better than a gym.  In an Italian study, folks with chronic heart failure who waltzed for 21 minutes, three times a week, increased their cardiocirculatory fitness more than those in a group that used cycles and treadmills."

Sun Prairie how to dance, McFarland ballroom dancing, Stoughton dance lessonsThank you Jo Jean and everyone at Dance Wisconsin for giving me the tools I needed to get a job dancing with a professional ballet company.  As I near the end of my career of thirteen years, I recognize that my experiences with having Dance Wisconsin greatly enhanced my success both onstage and in the studio.  The many, many performing opportunities gave me the chance to explore the stage an challance my artistry and technique.  Jo Jean, you high expectaions both to be at every rehersal, and dance my best while there taught me discipline and perserverance.  It gave me the drive to push though, even when I was having a bad day.  Learning to educate our futrure audience through the dance in the schools program was also valuable experience.  It showed me that we have an obligation to teach our audience so that they may enjoy dance and understand the value of it in our society.  Without them who would we dance for?  All these skills and experiences I am so grateful for, they allowed me to enjoy my dancing to the fullest.  Thank you for all that you do for the dance world.

               Sincerely, Karisa M. Stich

           Former Soloist, Milwaukee Ballet Co.

Madison tap dancing, Monona dance studios, Middleton ballet lessonsI grew up studying dance in the Madison area, and have been dancing professionally for almost 13 years!  I began my training at Monona Academy of Dance at the age of three, and contiued to study there untill I left Wisconsin to pursue my career.  I strongly feel that I received excellent training and exposure to a wide variety of dance styles.  When I began my professional carrer, I met many dancers who had gone through Conservatory and University programs for dance and performance.  I found that my dance training at Madison had provided me with even stronger skills than many of these dancers!  I had been given a solid base of technique, a strong stylistic background and a ton of performing experience.  I found that when I moved to New York City, I had been given all the right tools to succeed.  I have had a wonderful career filled with so many different kinds of dance work.  My career has included dancing on Broadway, dancing and choreographing for the Radio City Rockettes, commercials, back-up dancing, industrials, theme parks and company-type work.  I am so grateful that my training at Monona Academy of Dance in Madison has allowed me to do so many wonderful tings!

                 Sincerely, Amy Krawcek

               Former Radio City Rockette

               and Assistant Choreographer

"I am so excited to tell you this because I couldn't have done it without you, Jean, Jason, and Nicole pushing me.  Starting my professional dance career here so close to home and at your alma mater is more than I could ever ask for."
